two days ago. Gregg check outside and there it was, and from someone who left no name. We were very touched by such a kind gift. Who would have thought that only a couple of weeks ago, we would have been so heart-warmed by being given two rolls of toilet paper and that sweet note.
"Happy Social Distance!
Here are some supplies to brighten your day.
Sharing Neighborly Goodwill."
Such a sweet gesture! Frankly, it made our day.
I hope you have plenty of supplies in your house.
Thanks for looking and whatever you are doing, I hope it is keeping you safe.
How wonderful! It seems times like this either bring out the best or the worst in people.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny :) I have been hearing all about the hoarding, and the other negatives, but then there are those people like this sweet person. I am now reading all over the globe, including here in the US, where people are helping and showing kindnesses towards others, especially to the elderly. Does the heart good to read about it. I put this post up on our local neighborhood app and I have already had over a hundred replies thanking the kindness of the person who did this for us, and how it made them feel good reading about it.
DeleteNow that is a truly lovely gesture.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, stay well.
It was and thank you EC, you stay safe and well also :)
DeleteWhat a lovely thoughtful gesture. People can be so kind, can't they. Here in the UK the government appealed for volunteers to help the NHS and 405,000 people have come forward. Amazing! Have a great day, Denise, and stay safe. Angie x
ReplyDeleteIsn't that wonderful about all those volunteers? Really does the heart good. AirBnb has donated 100,000 homes around the world for those who are on the front line of the Corona virus. I wish for you the same Angie x :)
DeleteThere, I knew there were kind hearted souls still waiting to prove their existence. What a lovely gesture this was. The silence here is heartbreaking. It seems that gone are the days when neighbours were able to be neighbourly. Hope you are coping with everything.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are not experiencing that kindness in your neighborhood Valerie. I am keeping my fingers crossed that something good will happen for you. We are coping here thank you, and from your last post, I was very impressed with your positive attitude :)
DeleteHello, you are blessed with great neighbors. It is nice to see a kind gesture and gift. Stay safe, be well! Wishing you a happy day!
ReplyDeleteWe certainly are Eileen. Thank you and you also stay safe, well and happy :)
DeleteThat must have made your day. Our neighbours are supporting each other with acts of kindness and especially doing practical things for the elderly and those living on their own at the same time keeping their distance. It's heartening to experience such thoughtfulness.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, it certainly did. Isn't it wonderful that you have neighbors who are helping and yet taking care of you all by staying their distance. It certainly is very heartening :)
Deleteit is a fantastic idea and a super gift. and that brings to mind what our world has come to that TP is considered a good gift. wow, how things change in the blink of an eye. it always drives me nuts trying to figure out who gives me an unsigned gift. once I got a check for 100.00, a cashiers check. I needed it really bad, it wasn't my parents or my aunt because they had been helping out with what they could. I never did find out who sent it and that was in 1976.
ReplyDeleteA blink of the eye indeed. One reason I take nothing for granted, you just never know what is around the corner. I wonder if this comes with age but then I was always a cautious soul :) How kind that person was with the check. These things come out of the blue at the right time, to warm us inside out. Thanks for sharing that Sandra :)
DeleteWe have some awesome neighbors who have said they will help us.
ReplyDeleteThat's great Red, makes me feel good to hear that :) Thanks for sharing.
DeleteYou have very kind, thoughtful neighbors.
ReplyDeleteWe do Gigi, thank you :)
DeleteOMG! That is just the sweetest, kindest thing! I love it. It makes me want to go out and see if I can find some toilet paper to give out too. Ooooohhh... That's right. I promised the kids we would stay home from now on.
ReplyDeleteHi Kay, I'm glad you enjoyed this post. I know what you mean, we are in that vulnerable age group also and have had the same talk with our son :)
DeleteYou have some very thoughtful and kind neighbours …
ReplyDeleteTake care, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan and I wish you the same :)
DeleteIndeed Laurie :) Thank you and you take care also. We all seem to be in the same boat together don't we, no matter where we live?
ReplyDeleteHa! How great is that! What a kind gesture. I love how creative people are.
ReplyDeleteMe too, thanks Ellen :)
DeleteHow nice to find that in a time like this! I bet it sort of made everyone's day here that read this.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping it would give a lift to everyone's spirits Rose. It certainly did to ours when we saw it on our doorstep :)
DeleteSuch acts of kindness give me hope about society. We all need to pull together to beat this virus.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have said it better myself Diane :)
DeleteThat's a surprise.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was, a very pleasant one with the thought behind it. Thanks William :)
