In some of these pictures, they are actually smiling! That is rare for photos this old! People were just not able to hold a smile long enough for the picture to expose.
That is the first thing we mentioned Ginny. We have seen photos of other families with those smiles and considering the wait, it is especially warming to see the children smile :)
They are fabulous old photos. I reckon they will be with a lot of money in the future as artefacts because today our photos are digital and won't be kept like these. A sad thought.
Thank you Diane. Technology I love it but as you said, the old ways that we remember will be gone. Everyone's grandchildren, however, will no nothing else.
Oh wow, another treasures! I love to look at old photos and just think about those people who are already gone, what they were like, what they did... Beautiful, have a lovely day☺
Very few of us get to really look back at the history associated with our families and where we came from. You've shared some lovely pics allowing us to peek into the past. I'm always fascinated with the clothing and cars from other eras. Hugs, RO
Hi John, he certainly does. I always remember a friend who was very deep into genealogy years ago saying not only is it like being a detective, but once you start it is hard to stop because it becomes extremely enjoyable to find people. All the best to you too :)
Thank you so for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.
I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I won't be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name please, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!

ReplyDeleteHi Martha Ellen, yes it is wonderful and we are delighted to come across them :)
DeleteWonderful! The young lady who lived past 100 looks serene as well as beautiful... maybe that sense of calm helped to keep her healthy!
ReplyDeleteGood point Sallie, I like your explanation :) Thank you!
DeleteThe last is my favourite of the set.
