MEADOWLARK GARDENS IN VIENNA, VIRGINIA

I haven't posted any recipe for the last few weeks.  We have been making repeat meals already shared.  Instead, I will be taking you to Meadowlark Gardens.  It is one of our favorites, with a relatively short driving time from our home, a lovely walk in all seasons and shared many times. This day there were lots of spring flowers to photograph and the cherry blossoms were blooming.

The one above I cropped from the top photo, a mommy with arms open and her little girl running into them.  I suppose you'd say I am a bit of a softy for these moments caught in a split second.  Not actually noticed until I saw the photo on my laptop that night, adorable!

It was busier than I have ever seen.  The grass still looked on the dormant side but those blossoms were beautiful.

We visited on Sunday, April 7th.  It was cloudy but the temperature was perfect.

People weren't only taking photos.  We came across this lady with a painting almost completed.

The Cardinal enjoyed the blossoms also.

I will finish for now but I have more flowers to share.  Have a great week and thank you for stopping by my post on the cherry blossoms.

  4. So much georgousness!! From what I can see of this lady's painting, she is talented! My favorite is the fifth one. The little gazebo standing on the pier surrounded by blossoms. And even an extra treat, it has a lovely reflection.

    1. Thanks Ginny, the gazebo is one of my favorite spots. When it's quiet it's lovely to sit there and watch the swallows fly over the water. We have a while to go before they come back. Yes, the lady's painting showed her talent :)

  10. I don't think we have any cherry blossoms here in Oklahoma. I can see from your photos why people get excited about them.

  15. The cherry blossoms are incredible, what a great walk! I like seeing plein air painters at work and it is almost too bad you don’t know that mother; it is such a great candid shot..she would love it!....I always enjoy your Monday food posts, but I’m glad to know that you don’t try a new recipe every week! (Most of my menu plans are repeats of ones originally shared by you )).

  20. The cherry blossom is entrancing. It's not surprising people take photos or paint those pretty trees during the season which is soon over. The bridge and the walkway that extends into the water create an attractive scene.
