    Hi Denise Hope you are all okay. I love bee's we went to a country fair at the weekend and I saw one of the insect/bee homes for them to over winter in. Hmmm I did think about buying one and then thought again it was just bits of wood with holes drilled into them, I hope I am not wrong but I am sure between Heather and myself we can make one and give a safe haven for a few bee's and insects over the cold winter months. so watch this space as they say.       Hi Don, all’s good here thank you :) Interesting about the insect home and we have seen several in the gardens over here. I am thinking of getting one for our garden sometime, would be nice to try making one. I will definitely watch your space if you watch this one, lol! Denise xxx

    Oh my goodness!! How did you do this? It is amazing! He is just covered in pollen! I suppose for me, it would be like being covered in chocolate. BUT, he is looking in your direction, and you are so close! Weren't you scared? Or was he too drunk on pollen to bother you? I have not seen this kind of bee, he looks all black.

      Hi Ginny, this photo was taken with my cell phone. I’m always amazed that it takes such good photos. I wasn’t that close because I cropped the original photo and fortunately I lucked out. Bees don’t really worry me. I have only been stung once in my life and that was years ago. Usually they just buzz around and don’t bother me, but now I’ve said that, maybe I have jinxed myself, lol. He was a happy little bee wasn’t he and I’m sure he was totally enamored with his pollen feast. Funny you mentioned chocolate. I have a post that I am putting together about a chocolate shop I found myself in last weekend.

    What would happen without them and it is becoming a problem. No pollinators means no food!!! Keep well Diane

      What would happen indeed Diane. I am trying hard to do my part by buying milkweed and other plants to encourage all to our garden, and an insect hotel is next on the list. Thank you, and the same to you :)

    I forgot that the Alice in Wonderland poem about the crocodile was a takeoff on a real poem. This was great. I can't remember right now how the smiling crocodile poem goes, but I looked it up a few years ago to use about an alligator (close enough) but i don't think i ever did. Anyway it starts out the same: "How Doth the smiling crocodile improve each shining hour ....."
