Good Morning! Denise’s Morning Brew.
Well, I have never appeared in my PJ’s, but today, in that imagination I am so fond of talking about, here I am. I also seem more wide awake than usual. Truthfully, I am not a morning person, but my other sleepy kitten personality below tells all, little blabber mouth! No worries, I am deep in the forest miles from anywhere, with no fear of any looky-loos walking by or unexpected drop-ins. Just me, the squirrels and birds and maybe a friendly rabbit, fox, raccoon and must not forget the family of deer. I could have Bigfoot stop by for a cup of tea. He would be welcome too, everyone is welcome. Hey, it’s my imagination, and here's me, moving on!
My mind says “Get up!” My body says “Nope!”
This week’s imaginary home in the middle of the forest.
I truly believe that...
The whole forest is my garden, how lucky am I?
Cute photo and…
pretty art.
I love this and in my world the cub's mama is okay with the little girl babysitting her little one. Mama Bear is happily foraging for berries and will be home soon.
The cat had a good night casting shadows but...
later returned home to its human.
Do you feel like a coffee smoothie? I would like to try this. My dear husband would rather have a coffee milkshake. I can see his point. Do you have a favorite smoothie you would like to share, and what is your favorite ice cream? Being nosy and curious seems to be going hand-in-hand with this one today.
Coffee Smoothie: 1 banana - 3/4 cup brewed coffee - 1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons honey
Fun with Food
For the little kiddos and the big Kiddos.
It is still too hot to put the oven on. I have another slow cooker pork dish for us to try. I don’t make these recipes before I publish them on here. It is always a culinary adventure.
Slow-cooker Pork Tenderloin: 2 pounds pork tenderloin - 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard - 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup - 2 tablespoons olive oil - 2 tablespoons diced dried onions - 1-1/ 2 teaspoons garlic salt or powder. Place pork tenderloin in the slow cooker. Mix all ingredients together and pour over tenderloin. Cook on low for 6 hours.
Dump-and-Bake Meatball Casserole: you will need - 1 bag (32 ounces) frozen meatballs
1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce - 3 cups water - 1 box (16 ounces) uncooked rotini pasta
2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1 teaspoon dried oregano - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions: 1. preheat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9 x 13
inch baking dish. 2. Add the frozen meatballs to the baking dish. 3. Pour the marinara sauce
and water evenly over the meatballs. 4. Sprinkle the uncooked pasta evenly over the top.
Do not stir. 5. Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder. 6. Cover the dish tightly with
aluminum foil. 7. Bake for 45 minutes. 8. Remove foil, stir gently to ensure pasta is
tender. Sprinkle with shredded Mozzarella cheese. 9. Bake uncovered for an additional
10 to 15 minutes, or until pasta is tender. 10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Bake time - covered: 45 minutes - uncovered: 10 to 15 minutes - total time: 55 to 60
minutes. Serves: 6 to 8 servings. Tips: for extra flavor, stir in a handful of chopped
parsley. Nutritional information (approximately per serving) - Calories: 520

No dessert today. I’ll be good and eat some of this fruit.
Wise Words for anyone who needs them.
Well, keep moving….you’re doing a great job….just keep going….No matter what
One day at a time….You’ve got this….Keep going
May you always dance to your own song and let the world see you as we do.
Life is busy for everyone. There will always be work, long
days, unexpected plans and a hundred things competing for
someone’s time. But the people who truly care never make
you feel like you’re another task on their list. They don’t always
have hours to give, but they always find a moment to remind
you that you matter. Because real care isn’t about having more
free time, it’s about making sure the people you love never
have to wonder if they’ve been forgotten.
It is time for me to get going and start my day. The cottontails let me know they will be visiting, and they are already on their way.
Time to put the kettle on for a cuppa.
Let us have a cup of tea and talk about happy things.
Thanks for stopping by.
I hope your day is full of blessings, and...
always remember you are loved
because you deserve to be.
(My thanks to Pinterest for today’s inspiration.)
Good morning, dear Denise; your post today has once again put a smile in my heart.
ReplyDeleteIt feels just as if I had sat on the bench with you, looking at everything together and sharing a cup of something to drink. It is truly wonderful to step into a fantasy world and dream!
Thank you so much for that, and I wish you a pleasant Sunday. Hugs Elke
Hello Dear Elke, it is my pleasure and I am exceedingly happy you heart is smiling :) I like the idea of sitting on the bench together having a cup of a favorite beverage very much, wouldn't that be absolutely lovely? Yes, dreams are a good thing. I wish you a pleasant Sunday also. Hugs, Denise

ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday! I do enjoy my morning cup of coffee. I love all the cute images and the recipes sound yummy. Take care, enjoy your day and the new week ahead.
Thank you Eileen, so glad. You take care and I wish you the same :)
DeleteFirst I have to say those are the cutest pajamas and with the robe and slippers just perfect. I think I could wear that all day long.
ReplyDeleteThis is truly a delightful post from beginning to end. I might have to try that smoothie. The only one I've ever made before was with bananas and strawberries.
I could wear those all day long too. Thanks Ann, I am happy you enjoyed my latest odds and bods. I think I've had bananas and strawberries too but it's been a while. I should make it again. Thanks for the idea :)
DeleteSaving that dump snd bake recipe thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat, glad you liked it Christine :)
DeleteIf you look that good in your PJ's you should share them. I usually wake up with hair sticking up all over the place and I don't usually wear very pretty pjs. :) That recipe sounds fantastic too. I am also saving it. Have a great rest of your holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteWell, in my imagination I look good in my PJ's Erika, lol! Your hair, my hair and a bit resounding me too :) Glad you enjoyed my post, let me know how the recipe turns out would you please? I'm hoping to make it myself some time. You have a continued great holiday weekend also.
DeleteDenise you posts appealed to all my senses today. I will have to try the smoothie.
ReplyDeleteI often have left over coffee. I make a latte in the afternoon with cold coffee, milk and splenda. I'll add the other ingredients soon.
Hugs Cecilia
Well, you've made my dad Cecilia, thank you for sharing that. That sounds good just having your latte with cold coffee. I'm definitely going to try this one :) Hugs, Denise
DeleteGood Sunday morning to you! You look great in your jammies, robe and slippers, comfy cozy. Hope your day is as pleasant as this post.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you ma'am. My imaginative personality thanks you kindly ;) Sweet of you to say, I hope yours is too Ellen.
DeleteI was a morning person but that’s changer over the past decade. Now I’m an afternoon person. I do like your jammies.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra, I am more of a night owl now and like you, an afternoon person :) Glad you liked those jammies, they were fun to put together.
DeleteOh, the banana fruit treat is simply wonderful...
ReplyDeleteand the roast pork is amazing, too.
I enjoy drinking matcha lattes.
Ice cream? Pistachio—done really well.
And fresh fruit is always good.
Best regards.
Happy Sunday.
Thank you very much.
Those sound so good Viola, I will have to try a matcha latte. Pistachio Ice cream is my husband's favorite, though I like it too :) Thank you Viola, best regards and a Happy Sunday to you also :)
DeleteYou do find some lovely things to post on your blog.
ReplyDeleteLast night for dinner we had a pork loin that my son in law smoked for us. He was doing a major smoking event with pork and I figured it was an easy way for mine to be done too. Emily put a nice rub on it. I sent Dan over to pick it up just as Matt had tested it as done. ESP? probably. I've been known to have it.
That's very kind of you to say Marcia. It is something I thoroughly enjoy putting together and so glad you enjoyed :) What a wonderful opportunity your son gave you. I don't think I have ever had smoked pork before. With Emily's rub it must have tasted delicious! ESP is something I don't know much about but if you have it, wonderful!
DeleteGosh I had a HARD time leaving a comment. I LOVED all your memes. I love the gal in her pj's too -wish I looked like that. Still having issues, but wanted to say hello!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, thanks for retrying. It's all been very frustrating not able to leave anyone any comments these last couple of days. Things appear to be back to normal, at least for the time being. Glad you enjoyed these and the lady in the pj's. I had fun putting her together. Thanks for stopping by to say hello. Always lovely to see you :)
DeleteI don't see any link so you're probably still trying to solve your email/blog issues. Sorry about that. Hang in there :)
Denise, I always love your "odds and bods" posts. First, I have to tell you I love that tea quote you shared at the end, and have used it before myself. Isn't that cottage in the middle of the forest quaint? The pup in the middle of all those sweaters is darling. And you know how much I love that red rose. That teddy bear toast is delightful. Would be a great snack for the little ones. I hope September is being good to you so far, Denise. It really is a sweet month, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat's great Sheri and thank you for sharing that :) It's a lovely tea quote isn't it? It makes me smile for sure. Yes, it's a sweet cottage and I would love to live in the middle of a forest. Thanks so much for super nice comments. It really is a sweet month and I certainly hope yours is a good one too :)
DeleteHey ! You look good in AI pajamas! Lovely images!! Ice cream!!! In England, I truly enjoyed honeycomb ice cream! Do we have it here? I've never seen it. It's the best.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, it's amazing what an online facelift will do, hahaha! :) Never heard of honeycomb ice cream Kay, that sounds delicious! I don't think I have ever come across that here and I don't remember it when I was growing up either, but my mother rarely bought ice-cream. I do remember our 99's on holiday though. 99's for anyone not over the pond, was a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a cone with a short piece of Cadbury flake pushed into the top. Worth waiting for all year that was, lol! To this kid anyway ;)
DeleteGreat post Denise.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your 'odds and bobs' posts.
All the best Jan
Thank you so much Jan, very happy you enjoyed it. All the best to you too, Denise
DeleteBuen domingo. Te mando un beso.

DeleteLots of cute things. That meatball casserole looks delicious!
