LAST SATURDAY WE MET UP WITH…

one of our family whom we haven’t seen in over a year.  They were in town and called to see if we would like to meet up for lunch. We happily said yes and had a delightful time catching up. We met at this place, all looking for something informal where we could sit around talking for a few hours, without anyone kicking us out for wanting our table. We called on our expert (our son) who recommended Senor Ramon’s Taqueria in Reston (Virginia). It was the perfect place.

Top, middle and bottom right were at the Mexican restaurant (we order at the counter and food is brought to us. It was perfect weather for sitting on their patio). Middle left was one of the Aztec designs on the wall of the restaurant. Top and bottom left is a different shopping area, the Reston Town Center which is very close just down the road.

There are no photos of food this time and not sure what everyone ordered, but we enjoyed it. I do remember Gregg ordered tortilla chips and salsa for everyone to share. I had a sandwich (a bun loaded with roasted shredded vegetables - not too highly spiced - it came with excellent French Fries (they didn’t overload the plate and left you wanting more but I was very satisfied at the portion size.) There were also very tasty empanadas, again not too big or highly spiced, which I was happy about. We took those home and had them for supper. I don’t remember anything else, what their orders were. I guess we were too busy enjoying chatting.

It really was a lovely time and we are looking forward to getting together at a half-way point next time, now that the weather is warming up.

That’s all for today.
I hope your week is going well,
Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Thank you Erika, it was :) and time just flies without even realizing it. It was a bit of a shock when I realized what our older family and friends had been telling us all these years, the older you get the more time flies.

  12. Señor Ramon’s Taqueria looks like a fantastic recommendation from your son, and being able to sit out on the patio in beautiful weather makes catching up even better. I completely agree with your food philosophy, when you're so deeply caught up in good conversation and laughter, remembering what everyone ordered takes a back seat anyway. It’s so lovely that you're already planning a half-way meet-up for next time, and those leftover empanadas must have been a delicious bonus for supper!

  16. This day sounds like yesterday. We went out to dinner with our granddaughters, their mom and their other grandparent. It was our granddaughters’ 14th birthday. I meant to take pictures. Did I? No. We were too busy chatting g and eating for picture taking.

  19. Reston, VA I remember it well. I'm sure all the restaurants have changed over. I think there was a Ruby Tuesdays there but I'm not sure that chain exists anymore.

    1. How wonderful you have memories of Reston Marcia :) I asked our son and he says they did close that particular Ruby Tuesday. We used to have one near us, but that was closed too.

    1. We certainly did and our area is pretty built up so has many restaurants to choose from. We don’t make use of them that often :)

Thank you so for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.

I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I will not be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!
