Chipmunk is just joking. He likes the seed more.
And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Birdfeeder.
The birds (and squirrels and chipmunk) told me how much they missed you when I was on my blogging break, as did I. Thanks for the nice welcome back. I have had a lot of fun reading all your very sweet comments. It's taking me a while to catch up with all of you but I'll get there eventually.
Have a great weekend and
thanks for stopping by.

I adore the little wrens! And this one is smaller than the pinecones! Does the chipmunk really carry them off? And what happened to the squirrel's tail? We have always had many, and I've never seen one with a tail like this.
ReplyDeleteThey are an adorable bird Ginny :) No, the chipmunk is more interested in the seed I put out but thank you for that comment. I didn't want anyone to think they really did like pinecones. I was just using a bit of artistic license and have added a sentence to make it clearer. It’s the first time I have ever seen a squirrel like this. You can’t really see by his photo, but he has wisps of hair growing which can be seen when he is in sunlight.
DeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne :)
DeleteDear Denise :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pun, cone-gested space! Lovely wren photo, chipmonk, and Junco. The squirrel looks rather odd without a bushy tail.
Have a happy weekend
Sonjia.
Thank you Sonjia, happy you enjoyed them :) squirrel hopefully will grow his bushy tail. Have a happy weekend also my dear friend. Denise xo
DeleteThat is a lot of pinecones. Will you spread them with peanut butter and dip them in bird seed? I have never seen a squirrel with a tail like that
ReplyDeleteThis year was the most cones I ever remember falling. When they hit the deck you can hear a big pop! :) I need to get a proper recipe to stuff the cones, as a wildlife expert once told me that birds can choke on peanut butter if it is not properly mixed. First time I saw a squirrel like that too.
DeleteYour critters have it made.
ReplyDeleteSo I have been told (by husband), lol!
DeleteFir cones are so attractive - good food for little creatures.
ReplyDeleteI agree Janice, one of nature's most marvelous works of art and yes, most definitely good for little creatures :)
DeleteCone-gested lolololololololol.
ReplyDeleteHappy good day to you, Denise! Thanks for the Saturday funnies!
You are very welcome and glad you enjoyed that one Ivy :) You have a happy day too.
DeleteBirds have returned to my feeders. They were empty after the bear visit and then I was away. It took the birds about two days to discover the feeders were full again.
ReplyDeleteThat's good, I am always happy when they get back. I may have missed your bear post Marcia. We had one go through the neighborhood damaging bird feeders last year, but there have been no reports, so far. That was very unusual as we don't normally get them. Might have been going further for food I suppose.
Deletemy first ever viewing of a pine cone buffet. Love the visitors. love the idea. poor Spiky, with that tail, he looks like a mousquirel as in half rat/half squirrel. hope the furs come back. I always enjoy our visit to your beautiful deck no matter what the store is for the day
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra :) glad you saw it and enjoyed the visitors. Poor Spiky is very recognizable when he visits. He's the only one I have ever seen with no hair on his tail.So happy you enjoy my bird chatter posts. Thanks for sharing that :)
DeleteDenise
ReplyDeleteLOL LOL Cone-gested that cracked me up.
What a lovely friendly meet and greet at the feeders this morning
Your Saturday Feeder Cone-versation was missed.
Hugs Cecilia
Hi Cecilia, that makes my day as I am always trying to spread a smile :) Haha, and sweet of you to say my 'cone-versations' were missed. You've got a great sense of humor too. Hugs, Denise xo
DeleteThat little cute wren is so beautiful. You are great with words :-))
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite visitors, though have to say they are all my favorites truth be told :) Thank you for the lovely compliment, much appreciated :)
DeleteToo funny. All of our cones are covered with snow! Happy Saturday to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy you thought so Ellen, thank you and a Happy Saturday to you too :) Bet your pinecones look real pretty with the snow.
DeleteYou are a hoot, Ha!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra and how kind of you to say. Makes me feel good knowing that I have brought a few chuckles with my Saturday Morning posts. I sometimes wonder if they come over a bit silly. I never know how they are going to turn out when I start one of these, but you saying that gave my doubts a big boost. Thank you!
DeleteHow cute these chipmunks and other creatures, and all the lovely different birds! Take it easy, dear Denise!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Advent day! hugs Elke
Greetings Elke :) and thank you for your very sweet comment. So glad you enjoy the bird chatter. You take it easy also my dear friend. I am wondering how cold the weather is where you are. I will have to take a look. I enjoy going to different parts of the world with my map traveling. It improves my geography :) You have a wonderful Advent Day also, hugs Denise xo
DeleteWe don't have those kind of pinecones at my place but stuffing them with suet and seeds would be pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you Val, you've given me a great idea with the addition of suet. That would be awesome!
