This certainly gave me a smile. It could have another meaning if we thought about a bit but I am taking it literally. I have been clearing things out of closets and boxes. It is an ongoing project. I will often find something that makes me pause. Basement next! This cleaning up could take longer than expected.
Wishing you all a wonderful day and
thank you for visiting.
I found this at Pinterest and I have written it out below for our international friends to translate when needed.
“You never know what you have until you clean your room.”
Yes, at first I thought this would be so sad, but instead it gave me a good laugh!! Can you tell me the name of that tracker app you both use to find each other?
ReplyDeleteThat’s my aim Ginny, to always give a smile or a chuckle :) The location finder if you have an iPhone is on there already. I found an instructional YouTube here:

It explains it very well.
If you have another phone company, maybe they will have something similar.
Denise, I love to clean and organize and this often involves donating or discarding things I no longer use or need. The feeling I get from doing this is often relief and I hope you have the same experience. Less means less work, less headaches, more space and time to enjoy the little things in life. I wish you only the best, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI definitely know the relief Linda and find it so rewarding when everything is neat and tidy. I relate to everything in your comment, and wish you only the very best best also dear friend :)
DeleteDecluttering gives one a satisfied feeling. I cleaned our shoe shelves and threw away a lot of shoes we no longer wear.
ReplyDeleteVery much so! I have already gone through the main closet and clothes and shoes. It’s a good feeling. Thanks Diane :)
DeleteSometimes precious items are found that have been forgotten about. So indeed you never know what you will find, Denise.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret, things long forgotten but so many sentimental things stop me in my tracks and the memories come flooding back :)
DeleteThere’s something quietly profound about how tidying up becomes a journey through forgotten corners of ourselves
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put Roentare :)
DeleteI never finish decluttering because I get caught up in old treasures!
ReplyDeleteAh, and there’s the rub! :) I know exactly what you mean Janice.
DeleteSounds like masochism, Denise!
ReplyDeleteThat too David, lol!
DeleteTruth. I do know that we have too much of rather a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteSame here! A lot of things! Sentimental things :)
DeleteThis is so true. I can't tell you how many times I have bought things that I thought I was out of only to find it in the back of a cupboard. I do that with craft items too. Could explain why my craft stash is so large.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh yes! I remember my craft show day :)
DeleteHello Denise,
ReplyDeleteIt is good to declutter and donate items that you no longer use.
Take care, have a great day!
It is indeed Eileen and I wish you the same :)
DeleteThe reminds me that I need to clean up a bit too :-))
ReplyDeleteI wish you happy decluttering Angie :)
DeleteNot too long ago, I found a pair of jeans buried in my closet. They were old and fit me now after some weight loss.
ReplyDeleteKnowing how that goes, congrats! Thanks for stopping by Anvilcloud, and welcome to my blog :)
DeleteSome very useful stuff turns up when we sort, too.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t that the truth :)
DeleteAlways a good thing to do.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Marcia :)
DeleteOh dear, why did I immediately feel guilty when I read this quote. :) Have a great Thursday, Denise.
ReplyDeleteI seem to do that too Ellen :) You have a great Thursday too, or I guess it’s Friday already. Trying to catch up before the weekend starts here :)
DeleteSadly we have many rooms to clean out.
ReplyDeleteKnow that feeling :)
DeleteWishing you all a wonderful day for you either my friend
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you Asep, thank you my friend :)
DeleteHave fun cleaning, Denise. It feels so good when each place is done, doesn't it. Of course, I find mine needs doing again a year later. *ha-ha* ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, it certainly does and it is an ongoing thing I agree :)
DeleteSo true haha!
ReplyDeleteVery true ;)
DeleteHappy Thursday and good luck clearing out
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate that and you have a great day :)
DeleteMOL MOL MOL
ReplyDeleteAngel Madi's hiding spot for toys was under the couch. Every so often I get the yard stick to go fishing. She was sure all the toys we found were brand spanking new...even though they had dust bunnies on them.
Hugs cecilia
I am so glad you shared that cute story Cecilia, so cute :) sending hugs!
DeleteMuchas sosas llevan tantos años gurdadadas, que ya ni te acuerdas.
ReplyDelete¡Saludos!
Estoy de acuerdo, muchísimas cosas. ¡Que tengas un feliz día y fin de semana! :)
DeleteHi Denise, I love the vintage illustration, I didn't mention this. Hope your clearing out goes well for you, dear friend. Sending you warm hugs and much love.
ReplyDeleteHi my dear friend :) happy you enjoyed and thank you, I send you the same :) x
Deleteyikes! this is true, the reason I know is because I bought the contraption for bob's bathroom and put it together, and then a few weeks later tried to find the 4 inch wide suction thingies for the legs and searched every closet trying to find them. now I know I need to clean the closets
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, not the same contraption but other contraptions, can so relate :)
DeleteI like the vintage illustration and I find it's always quite satisfying to have a sort out :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Happy to share what I find and very glad you enjoyed it too Jan :) very true! All the best to you too.
DeleteThis is a project I am about to embark on. There are a few things I hope I may find.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra :) good look with finding them.
DeleteSuerte con la limpieza. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias :) Feliz fin de semana y te mando un beso.
DeleteSo very true Denise! :-D
ReplyDeleteHappy you agree Ananka, thank you :)
DeleteOh dear! I’m afraid that’s true.
ReplyDeleteAnother kindred spirit, thank you Linda :)
DeleteI have found some real treasures in my decluttering so I can really relate to this post. Everytime I have a 'sort out session', I usually find some memories to ponder and enjoy again. Best of luck with your basement. Just take your time and enjoy the treasures you find there.
ReplyDeleteAlways the way isn't it Beverley? :) I will follow your advice, thank you!
