Today's Flowers opens up on Friday at 12.00 a.m., and closes the following Thursday at 11.00 p.m. More information about this meme can be found here.
I am still sharing what I found while on vacation in December 2015 and January 2016.
I can't identify most of the plants and flowers here. I do know that below is the flower of a banana plant. I have seen them for sale in our local Asian food market but have not searched on how one would prepare it for eating.

I recognize the Heliconia in the top middle photo below.
Today's Flowers was created by Luiz Santilli, Jr. Thank you Luiz! I am now its host.

I am also linking with the following memes as they become available, with my thanks to our hosts. Please click on their names to visit other participants.

I recognize the 2nd red seed plant. We called it the Lipstick plant in Hawaii. Here's the address to Wikipedia:

ReplyDeleteThe so-called banana flower is just a bunch of bananas hidden inside. It falls apart when the bananas are fully grown and ready to be cut off and ripen in your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThe first leafy photo is beautiful.....and the banana flower is very interesting.....too pretty to eat I think!
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise.
Have a happy weekend,
Ruby
