CHIPMUNK VISITOR

I am sharing another visitor to our garden.  We have chipmunks in the area and I often see them running around.  I took this little one on the front steps of our home.  These are not new photos.  I hope you don't mind me sharing again if you remember them from before.
Chipmunks are the smallest member of the squirrel family, and they are fast!  If they realize you are around, they can disappear in seconds.  Their average size is between 2 and 6 inches long, and they have a life span between 2 to 3 years.

    1. So glad! The first time I saw anything like a chipmunk was Chip and Dale the cartoon characters. So surprised, and delighted, to see them here for the first time. Always enjoy seeing them.

  8. I've never seen one in real life and only seen pictures and I did not realize how tiny they are because the pictures looking at them they look like they're as big as squirrels. I'm so glad you showed these pictures are absolutely adorable I'd like to see one that's only two in that that would be even more adorable

    1. Thank you Sandra, so happy you enjoyed these. I once sat by a river while on holiday, and out popped two chipmunks foraging so close to me. It was in a pretty isolated spot so they weren't used to humans would imagine, and yet they stayed there in full sight of me for several minutes before they disappeared :)
