THE OLD CAR

The memories of an old life,
That has taken hold,
Alas it is but an old car,
But some things are still gold.

~lines from a poem by Jermaine Carter~
(found on a road trip out west several years ago)

  1. Wouldn't you just love to know it's story? It even has it's own homemade sun roof. Some of our strongest memories have cars in them. I can count the stages of my life by the cars we owned at the time.

    1. I certainly would Ginny. I bet it is a very interesting one. I have never thought of that before, counting stages in our lives by our cars but you're right, we certainly can :)

  2. The classics have a heap of charm to their shapes don't they? Charm which I think is largely missing from modern cars.

  4. Oh to be a driver when cars like that were on the road. In along ago era there were parades of old cars and I was lucky enough to watch from close up, leaning on a lamp post with other kids from the area.

    1. Thank you for sharing those memories Valerie, I remember the first time Dad got his old car. We had many Sunday outings in the countryside and picnics when he wasn't working.
