TODAY'S FLOWERS #256 - October 7th, 2016

All my photos were taken when these flowers were blooming last month.

There are all kinds of names for purple Asters.  I couldn't fit these with one particular name.  Therefore I am naming them 'Purple Asters'.

  5. Beautiful flowers and my favourite is the 'Fire Engine'! Once there were Purple Asters growing in my garden but due to lack of care, they disappeared. Now I only have the white ones. Hope one day I will have the purple ones growing again in my garden.

  8. Good morning Denise,
Are you likely to be affected by the storm? Horrifying to see all those people having to leave their homes behind. And the numbers of casualties and worse...
Our flower colour helps a bit, but still, the storm and its aftermath doesn't leave my head.
    Lovely licoris is the star.

  12. Pretty! I tried photographing several of the Fire Engine lilies when I was in Virginia, but none of them turned out as awesome as yours!

  29. Lovely flowers, Denise. I've never seen the second one before - Licoris radiata 'Fire Engine' - looks fantastic. I tend to refer to Asters as Michaelmas Daisies. Is this not so in the US?

I thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.

Also, there are times when I delete by mistake, so if something you have written to me is gone, it's usually because my fingers have pushed the wrong button!
